THE POINTER SISTERS - 'Jump– The Best Of' |
|

|
- Versatile Oakland, California sisters Ruth, Anita
and June Pointer were regular visitors to the British
Singles charts between 1979 and 1985, scoring 10 pop
and soul hits in a chameleonic variety of styles.
- Most recently, one of their biggest hits 'Jump
(For My Love)' was revived in the movie 'loveactually'
by Girls Aloud, with their original actually featuring
in the film. This collection was initially released
in March, 2004 to tie in with the release of the 'loveactually'
DVD and giving fans of the film the opportunity to hear
the proper version of that song.
- Beyond that, this compilation contains a host of
other great hits including their biggest, 'Automatic'
(#2 in 1984), 'Slowhand' (#10, 1981),
'I’m So Excited' (#11, 1984),
their smouldering 1979 version of Bruce Springsteen’s
'Fire' and another song which featured
in a hit movie 'Neutron Dance' (from
1984’s much-shown-and-loved 'Beverly Hills Cop').
